Terms and Conditions

Tuition Policy

Entire tuition is payable prior to class start. This fee must be submitted with the application to reserve a place in the class of your choice. If for some reason the prospective student is unable to attend this class, the fee can be credited to any future class or course offered by Sea School as long as the student cancels or reschedules at least three business days (72 hours) prior to the start of class.

Tuition Fees are due and payable not later than the first day of class. Tuition fees cover class book.  Testing fees are additional fees payable at the time of the examination.

Refund/Cancelation Policy

Applicants who are not accepted will receive a full refund of monies paid. Students may cancel their enrollment and receive a full refund, minus a non-refundable deposit, if they cancel at least three business days (72 hours) before the start of the class (Student is responsible to maintain proof of payment, check or contract receipt). The non-refundable deposit is transferable to other Sea School classes, on a space available basis, if the student reschedules at least three business days before the class begins. If the price of a course changes before a student confirms a seat in a rescheduled class or schedules at a higher-priced location, the student will be expected to pay the difference or receive the appropriate discount. The deposit does not guarantee a price lock.

If a student no-shows for a class without notice, the deposit is forfeited, and the student must pay in full to reserve a seat in a subsequent class. Unused deposits or deposits towards open registrations will be valid for one year. After one year, the deposit is forfeited.

No money is refundable after the start of the class.

To cancel, the student should notify Sea School, by mail, email or other recordable means, of intention to cancel:

Sea School, 8440 4th St N,

St. Petersburg, FL 33702 or

hqstaff@seaschool.com

A refund will not be granted after the completion of a course.

In the event of an Act of God or Acts of God, that force cancellation or modifications of class schedules, Sea School will attempt to reschedule or otherwise accommodate students. Sea School will not be financially responsible for Acts of God.

The Coast Guard limits the number of persons (seats) in an approved course. Unless we can fill a seat of someone who cancels at the last minute (less than three business days), we may forego the benefit of that seat/student. However, some cancellations are inevitable, and we will credit that tuition towards a future class.

Online Course Refund Policy

Generally, online training courses are NOT eligible for refunds. We MAY approve a refund request provided the student meets the following requirements:

Purchase of an online course entitles the student to one year (12 months) of access to the course once activated.

Students must complete the course and required exams within the same 12-month period, or the course will be considered incomplete.

If a student requires more time to complete the course, upon request, Sea School will reset the course and provide an additional one-year (12-month) access period for a fee of $125. The new expiration date will be one year from the course reset date.

This Course Extension option is only available to students who have not signed up for or taken any part of their final proctored exam.

Online courses may NOT be transferred to another student.

Online courses that were paid with a gift certificate are NOT eligible for a refund, however they can transfer to any other course of minimally equal value. If the course being transferred to has a difference in price the student will be required to pay only that additional amount.

Gift Certificates ARE NOT eligible for refund.
