I have a broad background spanning international business, finance, and maritime affairs. My passion for the sea is evident in my fellowships with the Royal Institute of Navigation and the Nautical Institute. I also share my knowledge by instructing for US Captains/Masters licenses through my company, Florida Maritime Training, LLC, and I consult on marine litigation cases. My experience extends beyond the business world. I served in the Royal Navy (both Active Duty and Reserve), specializing in navigation and mine countermeasures. I commanded minesweepers, patrol craft, and shore bases, and I'm proud to have served in most UK emergencies, including the South Atlantic campaign, for which I was honored with an MBE. I retired as a Captain, RN, after 38 years of service. On the international stage, I've been actively involved in fostering trade and relationships. I'm a former President of the Cardiff Chamber of Commerce and played a key role in the twinning of Cardiff with Xiamen, China. I've worked extensively in Europe and led trade missions to Central and Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, and South East Asia. I was a founder Director of the Cardiff (Wales) World Trade Center and held leadership positions with World Trade Center Holdings. Currently, I own a commercial property company in the USA and serve as President of Euro-American Strategies, LLC, an international marketing company. My experience has also included involvement with the SPECTRUM Group of Washington defense consultants and lobbyists, and I served as a visiting lecturer in International Affairs at the National Defense University, Washington, DC. I'm a British citizen, but I now reside in the USA. I remain connected to the UK as a Deputy Lieutenant of South Glamorgan. In my personal life, I'm a Lay Eucharist Minister in my Church and enjoy music, cooking, and water sports.
