My path to becoming a Captain and instructor at Sea School has been quite a journey! I started with a physics degree from Florida State in 1979 and later earned a Master's in Secondary Education from Bowie State University. Along the way, I spent 6 years in the Navy navigating destroyers and 10 years in the Coast Guard commanding cutters, retiring in 1996. After a brief stint teaching high school and then working for Sea Land, I finally achieved my Captain's license and began teaching at Sea School in 2003. Sharing my knowledge with the professional students at Sea School has been incredibly rewarding.
